About

Greetings! This is Em.

I specialize in illustration and storytelling through design by combining illustrative concept design, 3D animation, and visual development to embody deeply meaningful and story-driven work. My work with branding, print-advertising, and 3D rendering shows how intention and cultural diversity links to all design.

I believes that my desire to improve and to push myself beyond my limits is where my strength lies. The goal is to share stories through design and to assist others in realizing their dreams can become much more than their imagination.

Yunqi Sparkling Fruit Soda

Created through a blend of cultural research, a variety of illustrative graphics, and Adobe Illustrator

Ideation

Howa 火花 (Huǒhuā) is based on the Chinese word for “Spark” to evoke the bright tingling sensation of sparkling soda and exuberant joy. The logo is meant to emulate both fireworks and the segments of a citrus fruit. Yùnqὶ 运气 is Chinese for luck, specifically good luck. Different elements throughout the design symbolize that, such as a traditional Chinese knot and an eastern dragon motif.

Sketching

I always begin my project process with multitudes of sketches and word associations

Digitizing

After settling on a design that suits the goals of the project, I move my sketches to a digital space, often Adobe Illustrator or Procreate, for better accuracy cleaner graphics.

Comps

Culling

Once comps are compared, I narrow down which version translate the requirements of the project.
